Provider and service
Meals for Friends is operated by Marco Metz. The portal supports shared meal planning, quantity calculations and shopping lists. The selected plan’s limits apply per space. Support is available on the contact page and at contact@mealsforfriends.com.
Free beta and later subscription
Participating beta spaces are subject to the deadlines and discount terms on the Beta Information page. Participation does not trigger automatic payment. A later paid subscription requires a separate, explicit purchase showing its price.
Accounts and shared spaces
Keep your credentials private and your contact address up to date. Members receive only their granted permissions. Invited members do not need a separate subscription for the space. Minors may use the service only within applicable legal rules and, where necessary, with consent from their legal representative.
Your content
You retain your rights to submitted content. Only provide content that you may use and share with the selected people. We process it to provide the service and the features you activate. Unlawful content, attacks, abusive automation and bypassing access or plan limits are prohibited.
Planning assistance and availability
Check AI suggestions and quantities before using them. They may be incomplete or incorrect and do not replace checking allergens and dietary requirements. The beta is under development and may contain interruptions or errors. Mandatory statutory rights and liability rules remain unaffected.
Termination and changes
You can stop using the service and request deletion of your space or account. Space owners can use the existing deletion feature. In cases of misuse, we may restrict the affected access to protect the service and inform you where legally and safely possible. Material changes to these terms will be communicated, and any required consent will be obtained separately.
Privacy and acceptance record
The privacy notice separately explains personal data processing. Acceptance of these terms is stored with version, time, account, space and language. It is not consent to newsletters or advertising.
Demo and retention
The demo is available once per account: 7 days of planning, one project in total, one saved meal, no invitations and 2 AI requests per calendar week. Weeks start on Monday at 00:00 (Europe/Berlin); a new week during the demo can provide a fresh allowance. Failed AI requests do not count. No payment details or automatic renewal.
After the demo, you have another 7 days to read, export and change plans. We send reminders 2 days before the demo ends, when it ends and 2 days before scheduled deletion. Without a plan change, the space is then deleted. Unconfirmed warnings or unresolved payments postpone deletion. Accounts and memberships in other spaces are handled separately.
Plan changes and billing
During the free beta, upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately. For paid subscriptions, upgrades take effect after successful payment and downgrades at the next monthly subscription anniversary. Scheduled changes can be changed or cancelled beforehand. Data exceeding limits is retained; planning changes are blocked until usage is reduced or the plan is upgraded. Reading, export and reducing usage remain available.
On an early downgrade of an annual subscription, the unused prepaid period is applied as Stripe credit. If annual billing is selected, a new annual subscription to the smaller plan starts on the change date. Credit is not paid out automatically. The price, date, estimated credit and any additional payment are shown before confirmation. Plan changes keep the same account and space.
